JUNEAU, ALASKA — The Alaskan Brewing Co. has been presented the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) award for its outstanding employee safety and health programs. This is the fourth consecutive SHARP award for the craft brewery since 2001.

JUNEAU, ALASKA — October 12, 2007 — The Alaskan Brewing Co. is pairing up with newly opened Comme Ça Restaurant to provide a night of great food, great beer and great works. Comme Ça head chef David Myers, renowned for co-founding Hollywood hotspot Sona, has prepared a sublime menu, including wild Alaskan salmon and beef bourguignon, which will be paired with award-winning Alaskan beer. The four-course fundraiser will be in support of extreme athlete Tom Jones’ ambitious and solitary journey to combat plastic pollution in our oceans.

The Alaskan Brew Crew and many other Alaskans joined legions of beer lovers around the world on Sept. 30 to toast the life of Michael Jackson, the venerated Beer Hunter. More than $4,000 was raised in his honor for the National Parkinson Foundation at events in Anchorage and Juneau.

Alaskan Brewing Co. launches Coastal CODE initiative for a healthy Western coastline

JUNEAU, ALASKA (August 13, 2007) — In 2006, poor water quality led to more than 25,000 beach closures or advisories throughout the country, 28 percent more than the previous year. Alaskan Brewing Co. wants to help reverse this alarming trend and is committing 1 percent of proceeds from its newly released Alaskan IPA to improve the health of the Pacific Ocean and coastlines in an initiative called the Coastal CODE (Clean Oceans Depend on Everyone).

Alaskan Brewing Co. celebrates 21st birthday with release of Alaskan IPA Print E-mail

JUNEAU, ALASKA — The only thing better than toasting your 21st birthday with a beer is toasting with a beer created just for the occasion. Alaskan Brewing Co. is releasing Alaskan IPA, just in time for its 21st birthday. The April release is the first one for the brewery based in Juneau, Alaska, since the launch of Alaskan Summer Ale in 2002. Alaskan IPA will be available in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.

Alaskan Big Nugget wins top honor at Toronado Barley Wine Festival Print E-mail

JUNEAU, ALASKA — February 21, 2007 — The Alaskan Big Nugget Barley Wine (2004 vintage) took first place at the Toronado Barley Wine Festival, being held in San Francisco Feb. 17-24. It was an extremely competitive field, with 54 entries, making it at one of the biggest festivals of its kind, according to event organizer David Keene.
