Alaskan Amber and Pale take first and second place in the "People's Choice - Best Beer in Alaska" category at the Great Alaska Winter Brew and Barley Wine Festival. Alaskan Smoked Porter won the People's Choice - Best Winter Brew.
The envelope please...And the People's Choice for "Best of Show Winter Beer" is... (drum roll please)...Alaskan Smoked Porter.
Alaskan Smoked Porter is just one of three Alaskan Brewing Co. beers honored at the 4th annual Great Alaska Winter Brew and Barley Wine Festival, held in February in Anchorage.
Other Alaskan beers taking home People's Choice Awards from the festival include Alaskan Amber for the "Best of Show - Best Beer in Alaska", and Alaskan Pale for "2nd Place - Best Beer in Alaska".
The Great Alaska Winter Brew and Barley Wine Festival showcases beer from all over the United States, including stouts, porters, winter brews, barley wines and pilsners. Over 170 beers and barley wines were entered in the competition.
