Press Release
Alaskan Smoked Porter has a dark, robust body with a pronounced smoky flavor. The labor-intensive process of smoking malt limits the amount produced, making it as elusive as it is exclusive. People have been known to store bottles of Smoked Porter like fine wines because the smoke flavor that distinguishes the beer also acts as a preservative - kind of the way smoking fish or ham enhances longevity. In addition, Alaskan brewers allow a little of the yeast to remain in the beer, allowing the beer to further develop as it ages. Smoked Porter continues to earn rave reviews and the beer is the most successful medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival. In fact, Alaskan Brewing has won more medals at the GABF than any other single location craft brewery.
