Food & Wine Magazine may be best known for its review of products after its namesake, but in the publication's June issue, David Lynch provides a list of the top 20 regional craft breweries...Alaskan Brewing Co. included! The list was compiled based on the taste buds of writer David Lynch himself and also the informed opinions of bartenders, "brewmaster" editors, beer writers, industry analysts, and beer tasting competition winnings.

"It's a great achievement for the Alaskan Brewing family to receive such a distinction in the industry. We work hard to bring a consistently high quality product to our customers, and to be mentioned in a national publication outside of the beer industry realm is an honor," said Marcy Larson, co-founder of Alaskan Brewing Company.

In the Food & Wine article David Lynch writes, "The beers from this Juneau brewery have been perennial award winners. Alaskan Smoked Porter, made by using smoked malt in the mash, is one of the most exotic, flavorful specialties in the world of beers."

And the acclaim goes on. Tom Stockley, wine columnist for the Seattle Times also pushed the envelope and featured Alaskan Brewing in his wine column May 6. Stockley sat down with Alaskan Brewing founders Geoff and Marcy Larson for a good ol' beer and food tasting, and afterwards had this to say. "Alaskan brews naturally go with robust, flavorful foods...," with Alaskan's top selling label, Alaskan Amber, being characterized as "malty, flavorful on the palate with a fresh, clean style."
