Nuts About Alaskan Beer - Beer Nuts that is!
Ingredients
Salads & Side Dishes
  • 4 cups pecans (or your favorite combination)
  • ½ cup Alaskan Stout
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Butter
  • Ground cayenne pepper (optional)
  •

    Methods/steps
Melt sugar and butter in small saucepan over low to medium heat. Add Alaskan Stout. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil to hard crack stage (you have reached hard crack stage when you drizzle a little of the liquid into a big glass of cold water and it gets hard).
Remove from heat and add nuts. Toss nuts in glaze, being sure to coat evenly. Spread on wax paper to cool. Separate when cool. Excellent on salads or just for munching.
