Pub Night: Alaskan Brewing

December 1, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Bruce’s Place and Ellensburg Pasta Company are excited to have Alaskan Brewing Co. in house for our December Pub Night! We will have 4 of their beers on tap: Hopothermia Double IPA, Kicker Session IPA, Smoked Porter, and limited Perseverance Russian Imperial Stout. We will also have bottled Alaskan Amber. Food and drink specials, and prizes/giveaways, of course.

Here are the beer descriptions for your previewing pleasure:

Hopothermia: “Hopothermia is a full-flavored representation of the Double IPA style with a robust malt body resting in easy harmony, like a massive grizzly bear in winter, with the big and drinkable American hop character.” -Alaskan Brewing Co.

Kicker Session IPA: “The hop-dominant flavor and aroma might make you think this is a “bigger” beer, but the drinkable, thirst-quenching attributes of Kicker are enhanced by a lower alcohol content. A light caramel or toffee malt background and light to medium body mouth feel make this session ale a satisfying brew. The aroma delivers a bright hop aroma of citrus, such as grapefruit and tangerine, with a light malt backbone. The hop flavors can be truly fruity, with tangerine and strawberry notes coming from Citra and Amarillo, and a grapefruit and pine taste from Simcoe and Mosaic hops.” -Alaskan Brewing Co.

Alaskan Amber: “Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored “alt” style beer notably well balanced.” -Alaskan Brewing Co.

Smoked Porter: “The dark, robust body and pronounced smoky flavor of this limited edition beer make it an adventuresome taste experience. Alaskan Smoked Porter is produced in limited “vintages” each year on November 1 and unlike most beers, may be aged in the bottle much like fine wine.” -Alaskan Brewing Co.

Craftbeer.com says the Alaskan Perseverance Russian Imperial Stout goes beautifully with chocolate cake for dessert! Good thing we have an amazing 6 Layer Chocolate Cake for the occasion! The stout is described as: “Gentle notes of smoke from the beer linger and mix with the unique flavors of Mexican chocolate. The dark malts increase the dense chocolate flavors and the carbonation comes in to leave a very slight smoky finish. Brewing with Alaskan birch syrup lends a deep, almost tart character to the dark malt profile, while wildflower honey adds a delicate sweetness and floral notes to the aroma and finish.”
