Alaskan Brewing Releases First Pilsner in Company’s 35 Year History

Alaskan Pilsner Will Hit the Shelves in March 2022

JUNEAU, AK (Feb 8, 2022) – The first road trip of summer just got a whole lot better. Alaskan Brewing’s newest release is the perfect brew to fill your coolers as you head out on your road to adventure. Alaskan’s first take on the classic Pilsner is due to release in March in select markets, hitting the shelves in both six and twelve pack cans.

The Alaskan Pilsner, golden straw in color with a fluffy white head, is extremely clean and crisp – highlighting a slight malty sweetness that finishes with a moderate bitterness that won’t linger longer than the ‘aaah’ that will escape your lips. That subtle sweetness and balance ensures each sip is better than the previous, making it easy to go back for more. Brewed with the Alaskan house ale yeast, as opposed to a lager yeast, the traditional choice for a Pilsner brew – the Alaskan Pilsner invokes a bright flavor component compared to other Pilsners.

“The inspiration for the Pilsner actually came from one of our Brew Crew,” said Brewing Manager, Rob Day. “She did a summer road trip across Alaska, visiting the shores of Homer and sites along the scenic highways of interior Alaska before returning home to Juneau. We thought we’d create the perfect beer to enjoy when you call it a day, whether that’s around the campfire, at the dock, on the beach or wherever the pavement ends.”

Alaskan’s version of a traditional North German Pilsner is an incredibly sessionable beer with an approachable 4.8% ABV and features Pilsen, Wheat and Acidulated malts combined perfectly with Perle hops. Producing a biscuity malt aroma that is balanced by the slightest touch of honey this medium-light bodied brew’s subtle sweetness and balanced finish creates a well attenuated Pilsner. Reward yourself as the sun dips down for a day well spent on the road to adventure.
